Mathilde Oscar was born in Paris in 1980, she lives and worked in Cannes.
Passionate about the painting she practiced in the first place, she studies the history of art. Then heading for graphics for several years, she discovered photography in 2013 a little by chance and will transpose her pictorial ideas strongly inspired by the great masters of painting, romanticism and neo-classicism. This is how we find in his works this light and this particular atmosphere which make his photographs real paintings.
The manufacture of sets, costumes and accessories often adds to its creative process, but sometimes some of its inspirations can emerge from a world created digital. It thus develops a unique visual art combining the codes of classic painting with photography and digital manipulation. Very often anachronistic and offbeat, his portraits seem lost in an unknown time space, with multiple references to the history of art.
His universe is romantic and sometimes tinged with surrealism, where his characters, often female, proudly pose such charismatic Amazons.
