Gaëtan de Séguin paints crowds. A crowd made up of a multitude of silhouettes, almost identical but all singular. Beings who, through the very action of painting, become motifs.
Strange and uncommunicative, this silhouette sometimes escapes the crowd, but without finding salvation in it. Alone, crossing paths with his fellow man without really being able to understand him...
"But this is surprising coming from Gaëtan de Séguin, who is so fond of words and conversation. Could his painting be his antinomic double? The many and the one, the anonymous and the personal, the silent and the noisy. There's all that in Gaëtan de Séguin's painting, a painting of the singular-plural," writes French artist François Supiot.
