Stuart Jones

Stuart Jones has been working as an artist for over twenty years. Originally from the Northwest of England, he studied Fine Art at Leeds Metropolitan University and now lives and works in his studio in Hertfordshire. He mainly works with oil paint and mixed techniques on canvas and explores urban and rural landscapes as well as ideas of utopia, dystopia, and the sublime in his works. He is currently a fellow at Digswell Arts and was shortlisted for the Beep Painting Prize (2022), the John Moores Painting Prize (2020), and the Contemporary Arts Trust Prize (2019).
