Covadonga Castro

Her artistic journey began in theater, where she worked as a set designer, creating visual worlds for theatrical productions. However, her creative pursuit led her to travel to Krakow, where she attended the prestigious Academy of Fine Arts for two years, thus forging her identity as a painter. Upon returning to Spain, Covadonga crossed paths with Antonio Machón, a meeting that would mark a milestone in her artistic career. Together, they held their first exhibition in 2018, initiating a series of exhibitions that took her work to Ibiza, where she lived for three years before embarking on a new artistic adventure in the French countryside. Since her retreat in France, Covadonga has found in the tranquility and serenity of the rural environment an endless source of inspiration. Her work has become an intimate expression of the beauty and complexity of the natural world that surrounds her. She defines herself as a strictly abstract artist, an oil brush painter who has explored various mediums, including textiles, engravings, ceramics, and photography. Through this diversity, she has developed a distinctive artistic vision that seeks to capture the very essence of nature through color. Her color palette becomes her main tool for creating a visual landscape that invites contemplation and reflection. Her works are a symphony of intertwined and overlapping colors, creating a chromatic experience that evokes a wide range of feelings and sensations.
