Edouard Souhaid (born 1994), a Lebanese artist and architect who has lived in Paris since 2015, has a degree from the École Spéciale d'Architecture (ESA) and a Master 2 from the École Nationale Supérieure d'Architecture de la Villette (ENSA-LV). His interdisciplinary practice includes drawing, painting, and sculpture, focusing on rhythm, movement, and colors. He employs various techniques and surfaces, including canvas and wood, and has ventured into innovative 3D printing techniques for 3D sculptures. Edouard has also contributed to the cultural landscape of Lebanon by co-founding MINAB and the Collective for Architecture Lebanon (CAL), which promotes interdisciplinary discussions on architecture, design, urban planning, and humanities in the Arab world. His abstract artworks have been exhibited in prominent venues, including the Beit Beirut Museum, Ho Chi Minh City, and Paris. He has exhibited in galleries in Paris and recently at the Chaos Art Gallery in Beirut. His practice is transversal and includes flat canvases, bas-relief works in wood, and 3D sculptures. He is inspired by artists such as Kandinsky, Frank Stella, and Jean Arp, as well as the American movement of Abstract Expressionism, whose sense of rhythm and physical engagement with the artwork he appreciates.
