Edouard Souhaid (b.1994), a Lebanese artist and architect based in Paris since 2015, has a degree from the École Spéciale d’Architecture (ESA) and a Master 2 from the École Nationale Supérieure d’Architecture de la Villette (ENSA-LV).
His interdisciplinary practice includes drawing, painting, and sculpture, focusing on rhythm, movement, and colors. He employs various techniques and surfaces, including canvas and wood, and has ventured into 3D sculpture using innovative 3D printing techniques.
Edouard has also contributed to Lebanon's cultural landscape by co-founding MINAB and Collective for Architecture Lebanon (CAL), which facilitates interdisciplinary discussions across architecture, design, urban planning, and the humanities in the Arab World. His abstract artwork has been exhibited in prominent venues, including the Beit Beirut Museum, Ho Chi Minh City, and Paris. He has exhibited in galleries in Paris and more recently in Beirut with Chaos Art Gallery.
His practice is transversal, incorporating canvas flatness, bas-relief work in wood, and 3D sculpture. He is inspired by artists like Kandinsky, Frank Stella, and Jean Arp, and the American Abstract Expressionist movement for their sense of rhythm and bodily involvement in the artwork.
