Jordana Rae Gassner

Jordana Rae Gassner is an internationally exhibited US-American artist living in Bavaria, Germany. She is primarily an oil painter with a focus on metaphysical realism. With a strong focus on structure and line, these abstract paintings become evocative and engaging. There is a powerful dynamism, even with a reduction into simple forms. The color pigments reflect between each other held within their oiled medium. „My colours are potent, the combinations lively and real.“ The early years of her life were spent in the Black Hills of South Dakota, USA. It was there she learned to love the multifaceted manifestations of nature while running barefoot through prairie lands and climbing up big rocks. A moderate stint in art conservation began before beginning studies in Psychology, Literature, Religion, Shamanism and Philosophy, and helped to refine her focus towards 2 dimensional paintings and sculptural objects. She continues to explore concepts of balance between artistic expression and art conservation in present-day works. JRG obtained her Bachelors of Arts in 1999 and acquired a Diplom at the Kolbermoor Kunst Akademie in Germany in 2024. She has studied at the Universidad de las Americas in Mexico, the University of Bergen in Norway and Concordia College in Moorhead, MN, USA.
