Etienne Clement is a French artist who creates highly detailed dioramas, which he then photographs. Each tells a different tale, and Etienne builds up his stories by drawing on both fact and fiction, history and legend. We absolutely love the scenes that Etienne constructs; they are rich with detail and heavy with wit and social critique.
The artist studied English History and Civilisation before pursuing Art History at Ecole du Louvre in Paris. He has exhibited his photographs at fairs and galleries throughout Europe and the UK, including the V&A Museum of Childhood in London and the Magda Danysz Gallery in Paris.
In the late nineties, Etienne was named European Architectural Photographer of the year. His photographs continue to be held in collections like the Foreign and Commonwealth Office in London and the National Library of France, in Paris.
