Pol Ledent

Born in 1952, Pol Ledent is a Belgian artist who lives and works in the small town of Houyet in his home country. Pol Ledent’s art is sought after for its modern Impressionist flair and for a harmonious juxtaposition of vibrant primary colours, predominantly yellow and blue. His abstract fine art oil paintings focus on a range of subjects, including contemporary landscapes, still life, and nude portraits.

Some of his recurring subjects, such as poppies and flowers, reflect the seasonal transformation of Belgian nature. CAREER AND EDUCATION

Although the Belgian abstract artist took lessons at the Belgian Academy, Pol Ledent is largely self-taught and has maintained a spontaneous and intuitive approach in his oil paintings that transpires, particularly in his landscape and seascape art.

His artistic journey began at the age of 37 in 1989 when he first experimented with watercolour before settling on Oil Paintings. Despite being primarily self-taught, Pol Ledent's art has been exhibited worldwide from France to Russia, the USA to China, Australia and beyond.
