Alexandre M. Rockefeller

Alexandre Moore Rockefeller was born in Paris in 1988 into a family of industrialists, he discovered painting by registering for art lessons. He will forge his technique there and will be passionate about the history of art. He will choose to study particularly the naked. The flesh being for him the last place of personal power. His work is inspired by the artists who have sublimated the ideal beauty of the body: Titian (notably with "La Venus d'Urbin"), Vélasquez, Goya, Monet, Matisse, Modigliani, Tom Wesselmann. mark its imprint the present by relying on a precise knowledge of the past; Its aesthetics, its approach. The shape must be as refined as possible on a monochrome background. Only the reflection of light by the metallic color materializes space and silhouette. The human body is transformed by the use of painting and iridescent colors, based on inspirations of collage, sculpture. Drawing and color cannot be dissociated. Each trait, each curve, each flat of colors participate in the creation of a shape. The latter is sublimated by the interaction and the combination of colors. Without palette, made up of metallic colors, evolves in different ways generating strength and energy, thus creating its signature. "My goal is not to represent an ideal body and Stereotypical because I recognize the diversity of bodies. Only the manifestations of life and their forms that I transcend by elements of the body interest me, by a carved silhouette and an abstract nudity. This are odes to femininity, to autonomous, authentic and free women. I work instinctively, at the feeling, in vibration as a merger in arms with the living. Each trait corresponds to an idea. The body, its plastic, its sensuality, seems to occupy the whole canvas. The proportions depend on the size of the canvas. The construction is done naturally. I shape the human body with a stab wounds, with shards of colors simulating the metamorphosis in life shatters. From this energy was born a sensation in the moment. The graphics, the intensity of each touch and the materials harmonize and articulate in a unique abstract figure. So I hope to achieve an aesthetic transposition of my reality. »A.M. Rockefeller (February 2014)
