Micheal Haran is a London based contemporary painter specialising in making vivid paintings in a variety of Abstraction modalities and very modern Surreal DreamTime paintings. He also makes some Neo Pop works predominantly around the theme of Love ….
Micheal Haran studied at The Slade School of Fine Art, UCL. He lives and works in West London. He is working predominantly in acrylics and oils on canvas.
Micheal exhibited 8x paintings at The Florence Biennale, Italy in October 2023. Micheal also had a large solo show at 54 The Gallery,Mayfair,London in July 2024.
Micheal is very aesthetically informed by Post-Impressionism, biomorphic sculpture, Dadaism, Surrealism, and Abstract Expressionism. He draws inspiration from many of the Beat movement writers, particularly Jack Kerouac, and a plethora of musical genres. Many of the early Abstract Expressionist artists such as Lee Krasner, Helen Frankenthaler, Cy Twombly, Clyfford Still and Mark Rothko contribute towards his artistic thinking.
Micheal lived in Iquitos, in the Peruvian Amazon, for two and a half years and conceptually, he is continuously inspired by his deeply transformative experiences with shamanism.This passion has led him to dedicate himself to both producing art and also to raising funds for the protection of the Amazon and other ecological biomes.
