Lisa Takahashi is a well established painter and printmaker, who has exhibited extensively for the past 20 years, and has appeared as a finalist on Sky Arts Landscape Artist of the Year, and also as a mentor and judge on Channel 5s Watercolour Challenge.
Takahashi is inspired by the vibrancy of everyday life. Drawing allows her to re-interpret subject matter, accentuating decorative and textural qualities. She uses the bold graphic qualities of relief print to communicate speed and energy, while her paintings in both oil and watercolour are used for their nuanced textures, which hint at something otherworldly and multi-layered.
Her editions often sell out, and her linocuts have been accepted 3 times into the Royal Academy Summer Exhibition. She has also exhibited with the NEAC, The Royal Society of Painter-Printmakers, the RBA, the SWA and the Royal Watercolour Society. Takahashi lives and works in Somerset.
