Joanna Pilarczyk is a London-based contemporary figurative painter, originally from Poland. She earned a Master’s degree in Visual Arts and Art Education from the Art University in Zielona Gora. Pilarczyk’s work has gained international recognition, recently being shortlisted for the Herbert Smith Freehills Portrait Award 2025 at the National Portrait Gallery. She also won the Boynes Monthly Artist Award (Nov 2024) and was a finalist for the International FiKVA Award for Figurative Painters (2023) and the Women United Art Prize (2022).
Her paintings have been exhibited at prestigious venues such as the Royal Society of Arts, Mall Galleries (Women in Art Fair), Saatchi Gallery (Start Art Fair), and The Other Art Fair at Truman Brewery, London. She recently presented new works in a solo show at Oink Gallery, featuring pieces from her My Paradise series.
Pilarczyk’s art has traveled internationally, with exhibitions at Superfine Art Fair, New York, and a solo show on Artsy curated by Untitled Space Gallery. She is currently part of "UPRISE 2025: The Art of Resistance" at Untitled Space, celebrating Women’s History Month and the gallery’s 10th anniversary. She is also exhibiting in "A Gogo III" with Mash Gallery (Los Angeles) and "Modern Female" with 33 Contemporary Gallery (Palm Beach).
