Angela Edwards is a British artist who paints scenes themed around ‘home’. Her subjects range from commuters returning home, to refugees travelling across continents. Her works are based on images taken from the media or captured by the artist herself on her iPhone. Combining traditional art materials with new technology is an important feature of Angela’s work. We love how the artist injects poignancy into scenes and journeys that we witness every day and tend not to think about. The pull towards home is a strong and emotional one that is familiar to us all.
The artist specialised in Painting and gained a BA (hons) First Class in Fine Art. She now works from a studio in Shoreham-by-Sea and exhibits her work regularly in the UK.
Angela’s work is held in private collections internationally.
"Exploring the disconnect we often feel with the world around us, Angela Edwards instils significance into the everyday scenes we disregard. Her itinerant subjects trigger an emotional response in viewers who, also, feel too often in transit. There is a sincerity to her works which echo that pull to come home, to reconnect with our roots."
